So you aren't intentionally causing a buzz when you put the leadpipe to the mouthpiece, the added resistance and other factors are lining up right and causing the buzz, so all the muscles are as relaxed as if you were just blowing? I think this just blew my mind. I have been playing bass trombone and euphonium for eight years and I picked up the trumpet two weeks ago; the total difference in the airflow amount has been a really difficult change for me, but this might do the trick...

The pin has finally dropped Greg, you legend!!! playing professionally for 13 years and have all the tutor books. Maggio, schlossberg, stamp etc!!! As you demonstrated in your vids; relaxed, supple and puckered chops coincided with apeture control is working wonders. A tight and sometimes impossible extreme register is now secure and growing by the day! Spreading the word!!! Cheers
